2801 7th Avenue South, Great Falls, Montana
Where I lived from mid-October 1956 until mid-July 1957. This photo was probably taken in January or February of 1957.
Curiously, there was still no lawn seeded or landscaping planted when we moved to Pennsylvania. The Mayflower moving van caused no damage at all when it pulled up to the front stoop. And you still couldn't tell where the street ended and the parsonage property began.
July 1983.
Grass. Walkways. Lots of shrubbery. An awning over the living-room picture window. A wood-burning stove (?) in the dining room. A garage to the immediate north of the house. And although you can't see it, 7th Avenue South is paved, with curb and gutter, as are the rest of the streets.
Great Falls was a boom town in the 1950s. The first photo I share here was not an unusual sight back then.
