Virni Lisi (1936-2014): Not exactly a stellar American film resume

Virna Lisi, Italian Actress Lured to Hollywood, Dies at 78.  (The New York Times, 12/18/2014)

Lisi gives a lesson in alluring in this 1965 black comedy.

When Ms. Lisi arrived in Hollywood in 1964, movie studios were searching for the next Marilyn Monroe, and she was one of several attractive European actresses who would capture the public’s imagination.

Though not for long.

I vaguely recall that this clunker was the 2nd feature on a double bill at the White Way Drive-In Theater in Warren, Pa.   Early summer of '67, I'd guess.  Inexplicably, it was nominated for a Golden Globe in the "Best Motion Picture - Musical/Comedy". category.    But then in 1982, Pia Zadora was awarded a Golden Globe, never something to be taken seriously, for "best new star in a motion picture".

Probably another features that spent yeoman's time being projected onto drive-in screens, while being studiously ignored, in some cases.  The clip here begins with the third-billed actor, Tony Franciosa.

By no means a complete filmography.
