Southeast Steuben County Library Goes to the Voters Again



Southeast Steuben County Library, formerly known as the Corning (New York) Area Public Library, is again asking taxpayers to approve a tax levy from the Corning-Painted Post School District.

New York State Education Law Section 259 provides public libraries in New York State with the ability to place a funding proposition on a school district ballot.

Last year's request for a $960,000 annual levy was defeated by a vote of 1,511 to 1,230.
