Betty's activities:

Stenographers' Club (4).

Betty.  The "Lisa" and "Jennifer" of her time.  She spent 24 years in the top 10 (1921-1944) and 7 years at #2 (1928-1934), playing bridesmaid to Mary.  Mary was the most popular name from 1880 until 1946, when she was bumped by Linda, and again from 1953 to 1961, where Lisa ended her second reign at the top.
