Talking Turkey After the Dane County Fair 2014

My wife and I attended the Dane County Fair last Saturday.   We walked through most of the exhibits.  The rooms in the Alliant Energy Center Exhibition Hall featuring crafts, flower arrangements, clothing, photography, woodworking, science projects, and much more were eerily underpopulated.   It was no surprise then to learn that attendance is down 34% since 1995.

I thought we'd find more of a crowd at the small animal exhibits and petting zoo, but that wasn't the case.

It was at this point during our visit when I spotted what might be somebody's Thanksgiving dinner.

"There's something missing here," I observed to my wife as we walked back to the car.  "We need grandchildren."

As far as we know, this scenario is not likely to occur anytime soon.
