In Obama’s High-Level Appointments, the Scales Still Tip Toward Men. (The New York Times, 8/26/2013)

Excerpt:    But by most measures of gender diversity, including the proportion of women at the cabinet level, the executive branch looks little different from 20 years ago, even as the House of Representatives, the Senate and corporate America have placed significantly more women in senior roles.

And notice the difference between the House and Senate in how information about officers and organization is presented.

The House webpage offers a lot of white space.

The Senate webpage provides photos and links under the following headings:
  • Constitutionally mandated offices
  • Political party leaders
    • Majority party
    • Minority party
  • Committee chairs  (at which point, ahem, you'll start to see more women)
    • Standing committees
    • Special, select, and other committees
    • Joint committees
  • Senate elected officers & officials
