The Rise and Fall of Detroit

Although located in neighboring Dearborn, Ford's River Rouge plant serves as an apt metaphor for Detroit's reign as "Motor City" during much of the 20th century.

1917.  Construction begun.
1928.  Construction completed.
2004.  Plant closes.
2008.  Plant is demolished
