Excerpt: Director of the Center for Labor Market Studies at Northeastern University Professor Andrew Sum noted in a video for the site that, though older workers were slightly more likely to keep their jobs in the economic recession, they also had a much harder time finding employment again if they did get laid off. The average amont of time workers over 55 remained jobless was about 44 weeks.
