Shades of the 13% Index for Funding Public Libraries in Wisconsin

Letter: Stop the cut of state aid to public libraries. (Saginaw News, 6/18/2011)

Excerpt: The state of Michigan is funding Michigan public libraries at only 36 percent. That’s 18 cents per person instead of 50 cents per person, the rate that was established by Public Act 89 of 1977. The state has paid the 50 cents per person rate only three times in the last 34 years.
