Luther Olsen Recall Effort: 14,733 Signatures Needed; 23,000 to be Submitted

Woman plans to file recall petition against Sen. Luther Olsen. (Wisconsin State Journal, 4/18/2011)

[Is it just me, or does the above headline sound condescending?]

Excerpt: A rural Wautoma woman said she plans to file a petition to recall Sen. Luther Olsen, R-Ripon, for his vote supporting Gov. Scott Walker's budget repair bill.

"When he actually voted for it I felt he was going back on his word," said Ann Schmidt, who filed the initial petition to launch the recall effort said Sunday she plans to file the petition with 23,000 signatures with the Government Accountability Board Monday.

The board will then determine if there are enough valid signatures to move forward with a recall election.
