Don’t believe the myth that librarians sit quietly reading all day. (Fairbanks News Miner, 3/6/2011)

Excerpt:    The most popular, as in frequent, myth was that working in a public library is stress-free with librarians quietly reading whatever they want in quiet repose. I read it yesterday after dealing nearly simultaneously with a domestic dispute at a computer workstation, a mysteriously leaking cabinet and a passerby’s report that “a chimney on the library roof just exploded,” preceded by urinals overflowing.
