Letter Writer Offers a Throw-Baby-Out-With-Bath-Water Suggestion for Library Services

Link to January 2 Oshkosh Northwestern letter to the editor, "Some library patrons damage material".

Excerpt: It is tough on city library budgets, especially in these economic times, to budget for replacing these items. If no rules can be made, I would not be opposed to discontinuing DVD's, videotapes, CD's and other "entertainment" type media. There are other outlets for getting movies and music these days. This would free up some money for other worthwhile city projects. Also, would decrease the need for staffing at the library to restack these items.
