Kristi Howe Accepts Position as Beloit Public Library Director

Excerpt: Kristi Howe is the City of Beloit’s new library director.

The Geneva, Ill., resident formally accepted the position and will be starting Sept. 8.

“I’m very excited to get up there and get started,” Howe said. “The board of trustees seems very excited to begin working with me, and I’m eager to get relocated and to start learning more about the community.”

Library board president Steve Vavrus said he is looking forward to her arrival.

“She’s a good match for the library and the community of Beloit,” he said. “She has strong leadership skills, she’s a hard worker, and she has a very professional demeanor.”

Since the spring of 2006, Howe has been working as the head of youth services at the Helen Plum Memorial Library in Lombard, Ill.
