Beloit Public Library Board Makes an Offer They Hope Kristi Howe Won't Refuse

Excerpt: The 16-month-long search for a new City of Beloit library director may be coming to an end soon.
The library board has made an offer to Kristi Howe, who is currently the head of youth services at the Helen Plum Memorial Library in Lombard, Ill.
If she accepts the offer, she is expected to start within a month, according to library board member and former president Carl Balson.
“She’s extremely pleasant,” Balson said. “She’s very knowledgeable and has good leadership skills. She has some very good ideas and is looking forwarding to bringing those to Beloit. Overall, she just seemed like a superior person.”
The board offered her the position after interviewing her and two others last week.
