Linda Holmes Contemplates Libraries as the Next Pop-Culture Wave

Libraries:  Better for you and less fattening than cupcakes.

(And as you might expect, not all of the "cupcakes" images at everystockphoto are a suitable accompaniment to his post.)

The whys?

Libraries get in fights.  (As in Mary Dempsey k.o.'s Anna Davlantes)

Librarians know stuff.

Libraries are green and local.

Libraries will give you things for free.

"Open to the public" means "some days, you really have to wonder about people."

There seems to be a preposterous level of goodwill.

And, I might add....
