Bob Hafeman Settles in at Moline Public Library

Link to October 13 Quad Cities online post, "New library director ready to serve Moline".

Excerpt: The city's new library director wants to dissuade those who believe the library is full of signs proclaiming "silence" and librarians carrying yardsticks and rulers to whack offenders.

Bob Hafeman wants people to realize that isn't the case at all.

"There are avenues to explore in libraries. I encourage the entirety of the community to avail themselves of the library," Mr. Hafeman, who began his new job Oct. 8, said.

Mr. Hafeman, 59, most recently worked as director for the Manitowoc-Calumet Library System in east central Wisconsin. Prior to that, he served as the Frank L. Weyenberg Library director of Mequon-Theinsville, Wisc., and worked for 17 years in southern Illinois in various positions, from system librarian to district library director.
