Scenes from East Towne Mall, where Gordman's is going out of business

Gordmans is a Midwest chain specializing in off-price clothing, footwear, bedding, furniture, jewelry, beauty products and housewares that launched in 1915 in Omaha, Nebraska. It has operated a store at East Towne since 2004.

 The mall entrance

Lots of off-price merch displayed in a sterile, uninviting environment.

And pawed over

East Towne Mall opened almost 50 years ago.  And what was once 'new' now looks a bit tired.

The Boston Store closed in 2018, and its space remains vacant.

The closing seems to have had a dampening effect at this part of the mall.  (The sign says, 'Available at Tiger Lily Boutique'.)

What's up, Tiger Lily?

Things are ominously quiet at Sears, one of the mall's anchor stores since day 1.  (Sears downsized and then eventually closed its West Towne store.)

Barnes and Noble remains a bright spot.  But for how long?

And finally, Penney's exterior looks shabby, which currently matches its retail reputation.
