The Leahs are "strongly considering this terrific opportunity".

The Leahs' suburban Milwaukee base was of no help to her in a statewide election.

Background on the 2010 election:
Vukmir vs. Sullivan - mudfest?  (Milwaukee Magazine, 6/30/2009)
Wauwatosa has suddenly become the center of the state political world. State Rep. Leah Vukmir(R-Wauwatosa) has announced she is challenging incumbent state Sen. Jim Sullivan(D-Wauwatosa) in the November 2010 election – in a race that could determine which party controls the state senate.
Though Vukmir grew up in Brookfield and her assembly district includes Elm Grove and chunks of Brookfield, it also includes the western portion of Wauwatosa. That’s where she lives, just 21 blocks west of Sullivan. But the two are worlds apart. Vukmir is a registered nurse and high-profile, arch-conservative Republican, while Sullivan is an attorney, barely known, and a moderate Democrat.

State Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, 56, is seriously weighing a run.

Yes, Scott, that's just what Washington needs!

Getting re-elected has never been an issue for Scott.

Thanks to Scott Walker's mind-scrambling obsession with Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, we have the possiiblity of a joke candidate here.

“I think in particular what intrigues him is he feels frustrated that (U.S. Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez) somehow nationally is reflective of his generation," Scott Walker said in an appearance on WISN's "UpFront."
[snip]
"He’s 25 and he feels there needs to be a counter-voice to that."Hours after taping the interview with WISN-TV, Scott Walker took to Twitter to promote his son's possible candidacy, again by invoking Ocasio-Cortez. "He believes there needs to be a counter from his generation to @AOC," Scott Walker wrote.

Or is it just a matter of Walker wanting some payback and using his son as a pawn?

Yes, folks, after nearly 3 decades of feeding off the public trough...

  • Wisconsin State Assembly, 1993-2002
  • Milwaukee County Executive, 2002-2010
  • Governor of Wisconsin, 2011-2018
....Scott Walker just doesn't know what to do with himself.  And the mental toll is showing.

Reported in Jim Sensenbrenner won't run for re-election.  (Wisconsin State Journal, 9/4/2019)
Several Republicans could line up for the seat. Those include Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald, R-Juneau, former Rep. Leah Vukmir, R-Brookfield, or Sen. Chris Kapenga, R-Delafield.

The GOP primary election will decide who succeeds Sensenbrenner.  (Retiring Guy could go all the way back to 1978, but I'm sure you get the bright red picture with this 'abbreviated' column graph.)
