Don't look for Trump to improve his performance in Waukesha County

Reported in Suburban women recoil as Trump dives into racial politics.  (Star Tribune, 7/30/2019)

In 2016, Trump received 20,215 fewer votes in 'GOP bedrock' Waukesha County than Romney did in 2012, a decrease of more than 12%.  It's likely that a significant number of Republicans voted for third-party candidates, a tally which increased from 2,279 in 2012 to 15,826 in 2016.  (Also of note:  On the Democratic side, Tony Evers received 17,614 more votes than than 2014 candidate Mary Burke.)

Trump is going to have to hold onto his support in western and northern Wisconsin counties, where his trade policies aren't doing residents any favors.
