GOP members of Congress announce their retirements from the House early and often

Say goodbye to 56-year-old Pete Olson, who represents Texas' 22nd congressional district.

Sugar Land GOP Rep. Pete Olson won't run for reelection in district expected to be competitive in 2020.  (Dallas Morning News, 7/25/2019)
"As someone who has long advocated for policies that put our families first, it's time for me to take my own advice and be a more consistent presence to help our family," he said in a news release, explaining that his wife's mother has suffered health problems that require more care.

Family first?  Nah!  Don't believe him for a minute.  He sees that the 22nd is trending blue.  Pete doesn't want to face the humiliation of a loss.

The Obama elections:
  • 2008:  McCain, 60%; Obama 39%
  • 2012:  Romney, 62.1%; Obama 37.6%
Take another look at the column graph.  The 22nd is definitely not Trump's America.
