The sad state of MAGA GOP

Public backs legal status for immigrants brought to U.S. illegally as children, but not a bigger border wall.  (Pew Research, 1/19/2018)
The combined responses to both measures reveal Republican divisions on these issues: 34% of Republicans both oppose permanent legal status for immigrants brought to this country illegally as children and favor an expanded border wall.

GET ME REWRITE. As you may know, several companies who pay their top executives millions of dollars have made ongoing cuts to their work force since before passage of Tax Cuts for the Rich Act. Knowing this, do you feel more or less favorable towards Republicans in Congress, who most likely received campaign contributions from these bottom-line fat cats?

The actual question:  Table POL8_4: As you may know, several companies including Wal-Mart, AT&T, and Wells Fargo have announced wage increases and employee bonuses in response to the reduced corporate tax rate included in the tax bill recently passed by Congress. Knowing this, do you feel more or less favorable towards each of the following? Republicans in Congress

No wonder we're in the shape we're in.

Too many folks aren't paying attention.

CES 2018: Meet Forpheus, the ping-pong playing robot

The ten best gadgets we saw at CES 2018.  (TechCrunch, 1/15/2018)
Let's be honest, it wasn't too hard keeping Tito entertained at CES last week, but none of the gadgets he saw were a match for Omron Forpheus.  The ping pong playing robot features a built-in LED screen featuring encouraging messages, all the while whipping your butt at a round of table tennis.

Don't worry that it won't fit in your house.

Who wouldn’t want a household robot that can play movies for you and keep an eye on your belongings when you’re not home? That’s the idea behind Keecker, a voice-enabled robot that can project a 78-inch image on your wall. It uses a depth-sensing camera to navigate around your home, and owners can see the home from Keecker’s point of view when they’re away through the companion mobile app. The company says it works with apps like Netflix, Spotify, and YouTube, among others. The catch: It costs $1,790.

Might be time for Jarchow to update his photo

Reported in Special election: Wisconsin Democrats see chance to take red Senate seat.  (Fox6Now, 1/14/2018)
Wrong.  He's in the middle of his 2nd term in the Assembly.  Jarchow looks formidable. He’s in the middle of his third in the Assembly. He’s spent his time in Madison pushing bills aimed at pleasing his rural constituency, such as restricting game wardens’ access to private land, eliminating the minimum hunting age, lowering the drinking age and ending state wolf management efforts.

What about this fall?  Probably not that likely as the 28th is the most conservative Assembly district in the 10th Senate district.
