UPDATE. The healthiest county in each Southern state: Rankin County, Mississippi

Part of the Jackson metro area, Rankin County is one of Mississippi's fastest growing.  Its population has increased 334% since 1960, compared to a 33.5% decrease in Holmes County, Mississippi's least healthy, since its 1940 peak. Rankin's nonwhite population is 25.4% compared to 84.7% in Holmes.
