At the end of the Woodford Reserve tour

Woodford Reserve is one of the stops along the Kentucky Bourbon Trail.  My wife toured the distillery 6 years ago with two high school friends.  She purchased me a bottle of straight bourbon whiskey for my 60th birthday, a dubious move considering my longstanding indifference to so-called brown liquor.   Perhaps she thought I'd appreciate the smartly designed wooden gift box

But my first taste taught that Woodford Reserve is in a league of its own.  I continue to enjoy it when I feel my taste buds deserve a special occasion.

And although I'm a Retiring Guy, every day is not a holiday in my world.

(The above photo was taken at the end of our 1-hour tour of Woodford in Friday.  Samples included the (a) Woodford Reserve Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey and (b) Double Oaked Bourbon.)
