Will August primaries cut turnout, increase partisanship? (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 8/15/2014)
The ballots are delivered via the Nina, Pinta, and Santa Maria. The move to an August primary beginning in 2012 was spurred by a 2011 law signed by Gov. Scott Walker. Wisconsin's previous election schedule made it impossible to comply with that federal law, election officials said.
