Western Union....dit, da dit, da dit (8x)

Peaked at #5 on Billboard's Hot 100 in April 1967.

Craigslist fake check scam is going around again.  (Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, 7/20/2014)

Anything involving checks has to be targeting an older demographic*
The pretend-buyer mails a check for a more than what the item is listed for on Craigslist. The scammer then asks the seller to mail back or wire (for instance via Western Union, MoneyGram, a cashier's check or money order) the overpaid amount.

*Folks who were likely to have written many checks for more than the amount of purchase.  Although in my experience, this type of transaction was always done over-the counter, face-to-face.  Nowadays, the opportunity to do this is increasingly rare..
