The Popularity of Annette as a Baby Name, 1880-2010

From 1880 until the early 1930s, Annette consistently charted in the low 200s to mid 300s range.

Then, in a 5-year span, Annette jumped from 232 to 115, a boost for which this popular singer and radio star of the late 1920s and early 1930s might have been primarily responsible.

By 1955, Annette had fallen to #156 but experienced a resurgence after this popular children's show made its TV debut.

Annette peaked at #62 in 1960 and remained in the top 100 through 1967.

I'm not sure how to explain the blip in 2002, when Annette jumped in popularity to 598 from 702, only to fall to 754 the next year.

She dropped off the list of top 1000 popular baby names in 2008.

For older baby boomers, the name Annette will always, first and foremost, brings this woman to mind.
