Walker's Call for Special Session on Jobs Doesn't Fool Appleton Post-Crescent

Editorial: Thumbs Up and Down. (Appleton Post-Crescent, 10/7/2011)

Excerpt: Thumbs down: To Gov. Scott Walker's special session of the state Legislature on jobs, for not being special at all.

Walker called the special session last week, but now it turns out that the Legislature isn't going to return to it until Oct. 18.   As the Wisconsin State Journal points out, that's the same date legislator were are supposed to return for their regular session.

The impression that leaves us is that the "special session" is just a stunt. The bills that are to be addressed in it will be addressed, but no sooner than they could have been addressed in the regular session.

So much for the sense of urgency that Walker and legislators say they have about trying to grow jobs in the state
.
