Gleanings from 1939 Survey of Sheboygan Public Library Report (Part 1)


A reformatting of table 4 (page 33).

No surprise that the three male-dominated (male-only?) groups have a lower percentage of library card ownership.

From a September 2008 American Library Association news release: Libraries provide programs and services for people of all ages, but the poll finds certain groups are more likely to have a library card than others – women over men (73 percent versus 62 percent).
