Congratulations and Best Wishes to Janet Jennings as She Moves into Retirement

Link to December 10 Superior Telegram article, "Reading, adventure top director’s retirement plans".

Excerpt: For more than a decade, Janet Jennings has pushed for change.

Under her leadership, the Superior Public Library embraced technology, made Friends and turned up the energy savings. The library director stretched dollars, tapped grants and consolidated positions to improve library access despite the economic downturn.

“What was most important to her was to provide first-class service to the public,” said Pat Dorin of Superior, a member of the library board of trustees.

She did so with a positive attitude, logic and caring, he said. And she kept her eyes on the future.

“Libraries play a critical role, especially when the economy is down,” said Tuula Harris of Solon Springs, another trustee. “What better place to get access to materials?”

Jennings is now preparing for a new chapter in her life. The 62-year-old will retire on April 1
