Calumet County Experiences Boost in Library Service Reimbursement Costs

Link to October 28 Chilton Times-Journal article, "A Look at the 2011 Proposed County Budget".

Excerpt: Dan De Bonis, Finance Director for Calumet County explained that the 3% rule used in determining the increase available to counties has exclusions that do not apply to the rule. One area that has steadily increased is rural library services cost. This year the cost to Calumet County is about $44,000 more than last year. The increase comes from services provided to Calumet County residents that use library services outside the county, or for communities that do not have libraries that use facilities within the county. When a Calumet County resident uses library service outside the county, Calumet County is billed for these services from the other libraries in the system.
