Baraboo Public Library Seeks New Director

Excerpt: On the verge of a major expansion project that will require at least $6 million in fundraising, the Baraboo Public Library needs a new leader.

After more than five years as the library's director, Richard MacDonald announced last week he is leaving to accept a leadership position at the Fort Dodge Public Library in Iowa.

MacDonald said Saturday he decided to make the move in order to be closer to family in Minnesota and Iowa.

"It's going to be a challenge," MacDonald said about plans to raise $6-$7 million for an expansion that will more than double the library's size. The project is intended to meet increasing demand
