Excerpt:    Matt Borup, Hudson, announced Friday that he is running for the 30th District Wisconsin Assembly seat, currently held by Republican Rep. Kitty Rhoades, who is not running for reelection. Borup will run as a Democrat.

Borup has worked in the construction industry for 13 years, the last five as production manager for a company that recycles antique timbers to make home building products.

“I work in the building industry, so I know first-hand what it means to work day-to-day wondering about job security, medical bills and saving for my children’s college education,” Borup said. “I believe Wisconsin can move forward as a state with good paying jobs and a great public educational system, from pre-school through university and technical school.
