Mecklenburg County Commissioners Seek Ways to Ease Library Cuts

Excerpt:   Some Mecklenburg County commissioners said Tuesday they'd be willing to look at ways to cut less money from the Charlotte Mecklenburg Library system next year, though it wasn't clear how they'd make that happen.

"We know we have a stellar library system, and we're committed to maintaining that system," said commissioners Chair Jennifer Roberts.

But, she added later, "It's going to look different."

Tuesday marked the second time in a month the library budget was on the commissioners' agenda as county leaders try to learn more about how the system spends its money and how it could be affected by budget cuts
