Popularity of Libraries Booming

Excerpts:
The Kenosha Public Library branches saw 108,308 items circulated - the highest July total in library history.

And the Kenosha Community Library System - with branches in Salem, Silver Lake and Twin Lakes - saw 13,432 patrons in July compared to 9,974 in July 2007.

The city's libraries saw 4,268 children participate in the first level of their summer reading program this year, almost 1,000 more than last summer (3,312). The 4,058 participants in weekly storytimes this summer was about 1,000 more than 2007 (2,933).
